O novíssimo Seabourn Encore, um dos mais modernos e luxuosos do mundo, embateu num outro navio atracado no Porto de Timaru, na Nova Zelândia.
O acidente aconteceu no último fim de semana, numa altura em que os ventos sopravam com grande intensidade, o que provocou a ruptura das amarras do navio.
Apesar de não haver vítimas, o navio sofreu alguns danos, sem, no entanto, ter havido qualquer contaminação das águas.
O Seabourn Encore tinha chegado ao Porto de Timaru no domingo de manhã e era suposto partir para Akaroa nessa noite. Contudo o navio da companhia de luxo foi impedido de sair à hora prevista, tendo o feito mais tarde, disse um representante da Seabourn.
O navio, de 40 mil toneladas, foi construído nos estaleiros italianos de Fincantieri em 2015 e apresentado em Janeiro deste ano.

The accident happened last weekend, at a time when the winds were blowing with great intensity, which caused the mooring of the ship to break.
Although there were no casualties, the ship suffered some damage, but there was no water contamination.
The Seabourn Encore had arrived at Timaru Harbor on Sunday morning and was supposed to leave for Akaroa that night. However, the luxury company's vessel was prevented from leaving at the scheduled time, having done so later, a Seabourn representative said.
The 40,000-ton ship was built on Fincantieri's Italian shipyards in 2015 and presented in January of this year.
