Segundo a Lisbon Cruise Terminals a nossa capital vai ter um novo terminal de cruzeiros, através de um investimento total de 23 milhões de euros, da responsabilidade da construtora Alves Ribeiro.
Depois de ter sido feita uma prévia selecção, passaram à fase final as seguintes empresas: Alves Ribeiro, Ferreira Construções em consórcio com a HCL e ainda a MotaEngil, sendo que foi a Alves Ribeiro que conseguiu a adjudicação do projecto que irá agora iniciar-se.
O contrato, entre a Alves Ribeiro e a LCT (consórcio representado pela Global Ports Holding, Grupo Sousa Investimentos, Royal Caribbean e Creuers del Port de Barcelona), para a construção do novo terminal de cruzeiros de Lisboa já foi assinado, na passada quarta-feira. A empresa ficará com a concessão do terminal durante 35 anos.
A obra terá início já este mês, prevendo-se que fique terminada no prazo de 14 meses e meio, entrando ao serviço no início de 2017. Da autoria do arquitecto João Carrilho da Graça, este novo terminal de cruzeiros será um edifício pequeno, simples, discreto e bastante amigo do ambiente. Terá cerca de 13 mil metros quadrados de área útil, permitindo a entrada e saída de passageiros de vários navios ao mesmo tempo, um restaurante na cobertura, cafetaria e ainda uma zona comercial, com correios, farmácias e espaços verdes.
Actualmente o tráfego de cruzeiros na capital é de 550 mil passageiros, no entanto os responsáveis pelo Porto de Lisboa esperam o dobro para os próximos 10 anos.
