Last September, in Hamburg, the results of the world's best were revealed, according to Seatrade Cruise Awards. The Port of Leixões was among the three best in the world and with it the recognition for the north of the country is even greater.
The Port of Leixões was nominated for Best Port of the Year, and this distinction intends to emphasize the cruise port which last year stood out for the investments and the promotion of tourism. Next to the national port were the ports of Amsterdam, the Netherlands and San Francisco, USA.
Unfortunately, the big winner was the Port of Amsterdam, however the recognition and the fact that the Port of Leixões be among the top 3 is excellent, also giving new momentum for next year.
Remember that last July, was inaugurated the new Cruise Terminal, thus becoming the newest bet of the Port of Leixoes in promoting tourism north of the country. Are expected by the end of this year, 90 cruise ships scales and the arrival of 85,000 passengers and 43,000 crew members, meaning a very strong economic impact.
The Seatrade Cruise Awards are the most prestigious awards in the global cruise industry, distinguishing every year the ports around the world in 5 different categories.
Na passado mês de Setembro, na cidade de Hamburgo, foram revelados os resultados dos melhores do mundo, segundo Seatrade Cruise Awards. O Porto de Leixões ficou entre os 3 melhores do mundo e com isso o reconhecimento para a zona norte do país é ainda maior.
O Porto de Leixões estava nomeado para Melhor Porto do Ano, sendo que esta distinção pretende dar ênfase ao porto de cruzeiros que no último ano se destacou pelos investimentos realizados e na promoção do turismo. Ao lado do porto nacional estavam os portos de Amesterdão, na Holanda e São Francisco, nos Estados Unidos.
Infelizmente o grande vencedor foi o Porto de Amesterdão, contudo o reconhecimento e o facto do Porto de Leixões estar entre os 3 melhores é excelente, dando também uma nova dinâmica para o próximo ano.
É importante lembrar que no passado mês de Julho, foi inaugurado o novo Terminal de Cruzeiros, tornando-se assim a mais recente aposta do Porto de Leixões na promoção do turismo da zona norte do país. Estão previstas, até ao final do presente ano, 90 escalas de navios de cruzeiros e a chegada de 85 mil passageiros e 43 mil tripulantes, significando um impacto económico muito forte.
Os Seatrade Cruise Awards são dos prémios mais prestigiados na indústria mundial de cruzeiros, distinguindo todos os anos os portos de todo o mundo, em 5 categorias diferentes.
