É oficial: A partir do final de 2018, o novo terminal de PortMiami, da Royal Caribbean, vai ser o lar do quarto navio da classe Oasis, o Symphoy of the Seas, juntamente com o Allure of the Seas. Será a primeira vez, que navios da classe do Oasis navegam a partir de Miami, o que faz com a Royal Caribbean esteja a conquistar território no futurístico Terminal A.
O Symphony of the Seas, que será o maior navio de cruzeiros do mundo, será entregue em Abril de 2018 e vai passar a sua temporada inaugural no Mediterrâneo, navegando a partir de Barcelona, e escalas em Palma de Maiorca, Marselha, La Spezia, Civitavecchia e Nápoles.
Ainda não há planos para levar o navio ao Reino Unido, como se fez com o Harmony of the Seas no ano passado, mas o presidente e CEO da Royal Caribbean, Michael Bayley, espera que o navio seja exibido a mais de 20,000 parceiros comerciais em Barcelona.
Está previsto o Symphony chegar a Miami em Novembro para começar cruzeiros, de 7 noites, no sábado dia 17 de Novembro, a partir do novo terminal A, apelidado de “Coroa de Miami”.
O Allure of the Seas, que actualmente está a navegar a partir o porto de Everglades, vai-se juntar à frota em PortMiami. O que deixa apenas um navio da classe Oasis, o Harmony of the Seas, em Fort Lauderdale (o Oasis of the Seas navega desde Port Canaveral).
Nas Caraíbas, Basseterre em São Cristóvão (St. Kitts), torna-se no mais recente porto nas Caraíbas, e as ilhas privadas CocoCay vão juntar-se às escalas. A Royal Caribbean, acabou de assinar um acordo plurianual com as Bahamas, que inclui um desenvolvimento significativo da CocoCay, incluindo a aquisição de um cais, como previsto no ano passado.
Os 170,000 metros quadrados do “Coroa de Miami”, agendados para conclusão, com a chegada do Allure of the Seas, estão a ser considerados como a instalação mais inovadora para cruzeiros nos EUA. Foi projectada para criar $500 milhões de dólares em receitas, 4000 postos de trabalho no concelho de Miami.
A Royal Caribbean Ltd, prevê gerar um tráfego de passageiros de pelo menos 1,8 milhões em PortMiami, ou seja, 30% do tráfego de passageiros projectados para o porto. Isto seria acima dos 750,000 actualmente, ou seja, cerca de 15% do tráfego global.
It's official: From the end of 2018, Royal Caribbean's new PortMiami terminal will be home to the fourth Oasis-class ship, Symphoy of the Seas, along with Allure of the Seas. It will be the first time that Oasis class ships sail from Miami, which makes Royal Caribbean conquer territory in the futuristic Terminal A.
The Symphony of the Seas, which will be the largest cruise ship in the world, will be delivered in April 2018 and will spend its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, sailing from Barcelona, and stops in Palma de Mallorca, Marseilles, La Spezia, Civitavecchia and Naples.
There are no plans yet to take the ship to the UK, as it did with Harmony of the Seas last year, but Royal Caribbean chairman and CEO Michael Bayley expects the ship to show off more than 20,000 Barcelona.
Symphony is scheduled to arrive in Miami in November to begin 7-night cruises on Saturday, November 17, from the new A terminal, dubbed the "Crown of Miami."
